Zespa Hosts CCTV Commissioners Pitch at GEITF 2013

Zespa Media organised and hosted the CCTV open pitch session at the Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival on 23rd August 2013. This event gave an unprecedented opportunity to UK and international producers and distributors to pitch directly to the commissioners of new programmes and TV drama at CCTV.
We received dozens of applications for the event and selected six to be presented at the pitching session. The CCTV commissioners gave feedback and advised on their suitability and adaptability for Chinese audience. Selected pitches could lead to a potential co-development and co-production deal or a licence deal with CCTV.
The session was followed by a champagne reception where the commissioners and delegates had the opportunity to further discuss the pitches and emerging opportunities in the Chinese TV market. China Central Television, commonly abbreviated as CCTV, is the leading State television broadcaster in China. It has a network of 22 channels airing various different programmes and is accessible to more than one billion viewers.
