Zespa Media is delighted to showcase Checkmate at the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), the largest trade fair in China for creative industries.

Having been invited to CIFTIS by the UK Department for International Trade (DIT) and the Beijing Municipal Radio & TV Bureau, we held a stimulating panel discussion, Checkmate showcase event and book-signing that captured attention in the venue and on social media.

Jean Dong, Chairman of Zespa Media group of companies, hosted the panel discussion and Checkmate showcase at the UK-China Culture IP Forum at CIFTIS. Along with Jean, the Producer, Director, Camera Director and the male lead, Mr Hu Yitian all took part in the showcase event. Zespa Media also held a book-signing event at the UK Pavilion at CIFTIS, which caused a small storm at the venue and drew the biggest crowd on the opening day of CIFTIS 2022.

“It is a pleasure to take part here at CIFTIS and we thank DIT and the Chinese government very much indeed for the invitation”, Jean Dong said, “We are delighted to play our part in UK-China cultural and creative cooperation, making our contribution to the better mutual understanding and appreciation of the rich and fascinating cultures in both countries.”

Checkmate’s presence at CIFTIS was trending on Chinese social media on the back of over 15 million likes and other interactions in less than 24 hours. It also featured prominently in all major news coverage of CIFTIS.
